I was interested about which side You have (or havn't) picked to fight for. I was interested as on one hand I think a united empire will make the land stronger, but the empire are just such dicks (trying to chop your head off and outlawing the worship of Tiber Septim) yet the leader of the stormcloaks doesn't seem like the most legitimate guy either. Opinions?

Re: Picking Sides
Yeah no idea what im gonna do for this yet. Im leaning toward nord independence though seeing as how the Empire is crumbling elsewhere. Although I'm an Argonian and the stormcloaks hate argonians and dark elves...

Neutral
I am decidedly neutral right now, though perhaps biased in favour of the Imperials. I suppose that's partially because they have at least some idea of law and order and partially because they hit harder. Oh and yeah, that guy at the start was nice to me. And I kinda liked Emperor Martin Septim in Oblivion, so I'm swayed by old loyalties. The Stormcloaks, on the other hand, attempted to kill me when I was just trying to escape a dragon attack. No brownie points there. Not even brownies! No brownies.. no points.. no brownie points..

Stormcloaks
Some dude told me that Ulfric challenged the High King to a fair fight and he won so I'm going with Stormcloaks as they have been wrongly persecuted.

Re: Picking Sides
Haha challenging the king in the first place is high treason And starting a rebellion against the king is just a liiiiiiittle bit treasonous too

Lore
Apparently that's the way of Skyrim lore though, you can challenge anyone (even the king) to battle.

Trouble Trouble
So I'm having a lot of trouble still picking which side to go with.
On one hand you have the imperials, somewhat dicks but only because they
are basically controlled by the Thalmor.
On the other you have the stormcloaks who want a free Skyrim which is good but they
are also somewhat racist.
I want to go Imperial because I was thinking that in helping them the Imperials and Skyrim could unite to throw off the Thalmor but again the Imperial Army seems to be controlled by the Thalmor.
I want to go the Stormcloaks as well because they can rid Skyrim of the Thalmor but Ulfric is not the nicest of dudes and only wants power. It could also be assumed that by making Skyrim a free state you leave them open to Thalmor attack.
The political intrigue in this game is astounding haha

Very game of thrones-esq.
I'm enjoying it all so far, as an alien race to skyrim it's kind of hard to be on the side of the storm cloaks because they are really a nord only group, but the imperials are kind of ass-holes as well. So i chose dark brotherhood and kill them all, and then i will be the king, mwahaha.

G.O.T.esque
Yea I thought so haha I ended up joining the Stormcloaks (even as a breton) and they even nicknamed me at the end, Storm Blade funny seeing as my usual loadout is a dragonbane (blades sword) in one hand and lightning bolt in the other hahaha I think next time I will create an Imperial though and acctually play for the Imperials also.

Flamesoul
I said that Elamon leans in the Imperial direction.
Jenna is another matter entirely.
Jenna's father opposed the Stormcloak rebellion from the beginning. To his regret, when he took action he managed to pick an Imperial spy. The Imperials hunted him down and lined him up for execution. The Stormcloaks, who had obviously thought the spy was one of them, were of course not briefed on the matter by the Imperial authorities. They sought out Jenna's family and murdered all they could find. Jenna and her brother were out in the woods when it happened, but the Stormcloak banner that awaited their return told them the whole story.
Jenna's blood-feud against the Stormcloaks continues unsated, but she has no love for Imperials either. It was only yesterday that she called on flames' fury to consume an entire escort of Imperial soldiers and their Stormcloak charge. She didn't even blink. They barely had time to draw their swords.

See?
Ready?
Fwoosh.
Also, I just found out that Stormcloak captains make wonderful training buddies. I've so far gained 5 or so levels of Restoration, 5 or so of Destruction, and 2 or so of Conjuration playing around with some "Head-smasher" guy.
Oh and yes, I pretty much totalled the entire camp with my one bar of magicka (discluding the wounded soldiers - I am not a butcher).
